DJ Profile
Hello UK DJs,
I have a few experience on the past on the Acapulco Music Festival en some local parties.
At the begining of the year I have start with 3 Labels with 5 production projects. Juan Diego is the DJ pseudonym and mix the gamma of Deep House/Tech House/Techno and Psy-trance. The labels are Liber Abaci Records with the sublabel 22 July Records for EDM and Federal Reserve Records for Alternative music. The projects are: "144" experimental math House, "Antipas" experimental math Techno, "Lamb Wrath" Deep House, "Watermelon" Psy-Trance and "Korven Dallas" for alternative music. This past year the song "144 - Fibonacci Dynamic System" have been recognized on Wikipedia for using the Golden Ratio beside artist like BT and the band Tool. The Labels are releasing material since January of this year on the major stores.
Liber Abaci Records have the objective to explore different mathematical systems like the Lucas sequences and the Kappa Units. The Kappa Units are a mathematical fact in rhythm that the natural numbers shows. The traditional electronic music metric is the repetitive system based on 4 - 8 - 16 - 32 steady pulses on progressive stages. Years ago Nathan Fake have start a different tendence sequencing progressions tracing the rhythm on 12 - 24 - 48 - 96 steady pulses on the track "The Sky Was Pink" followed by the James Holden remix of the same track. After it a few DJs have done the same, like Jimpster on the track "Got a Hold on Your Soul" using the same pattern of the 12 - 24 - 48 - 96 steady pulses. There is another track that use a different pattern: "Marcel Dettmann - Core Box (James Ruskin Blueprint Mix)". This track is sequenced following 10 - 20 - 40 - 80 steady pulses also being obvious the melodic figure that repeats after 5 different notes. The jazz have explore different rhythm units but not sequencing on steady progressions as the electronic music does. After analysing that tracks and the jazz rhythmic units, the natural numbers shows more than one way to sequence electronic music with steady progressions and not only the traditional rhythmic unit of the 4 - 8 - 16 - 32 steady pulses. There is an ascending range of the multiples from the number 10 to the number 19 plus the prime numbers that allows to sequence steady progressive stages in music. This year I have start a record label named Liber Abaci Records and the purpose of the label is to explore all this different rhythm units and also to apply the Golden Ratio in the music and the other Lucas Sequences. The label have classify this rhythm units as the Kappa Units.
( α ) Alpha = 10 - 20 - 40 - 80
( β ) Beta = 11 - 22 - 44 - 88
( γ ) Gamma = 12 - 24 - 48 - 96
( δ ) Delta = 13 - 26 - 52 - 104
( ε ) Epsilon = 14 - 28 - 56 - 112
( ζ ) Zeta = 15 - 30 - 60 - 120
( η ) Eta = 16 - 32 - 64 - 128
( θ ) Theta = 17 - 34 - 68 - 136
( Ι ) Iota = 18 - 36 - 72 - 144
( κ ) Kappa = 19 - 38 - 76 - 152
