Growing up with his father in A&R and Promotion for Sony, Epic and RCA Records alongside iconic artists such as Michael Jackson, George Michael, Culture Club and Abba to name a few, it was inevitable that music was going to play a major role in life for Guy D’Angelo.
Guy’s earliest music memories are his parent’s record collections of UB40, Bob Marley, Culture Club, Genesis, REM and Queen flowing through the house. As he entered the 90’s, Guy’s own musical tastes developed enjoying listening to favourite artists Michael Jackson, Bobby Brown, Soul 2 Soul amongst others.
It was at the age of eleven when Guy’s journey with deejaying began. Practising daily on his first set of turntables, Guy would spend his money searching London’s Uptown, Black Market and Pure Groove Records for the hottest white label releases and becoming apparent to all that music had become his addiction.
Throughout high school, Guy built a reputation with his peers as the go to DJ for all house and birthday parties.
After leaving school, Guy found his next platform in the world of pirate radio. Guy blessed the airwaves with the soulful sounds of House & Garage, taking inspiration from favourite producers Todd Edwards, The Dreem Teem, MJ Cole and Bob Sinclair to name a few. Guy featured regularly on several of London’s leading underground radio stations.
At sixteen Guy had the opportunity to play his first nightclub bookings in Marbella on Spanish Costa Del Sol. Guy would go on to return here each summer to the present day to play regular sets in the glamorous Puerto Banus.
In 2008 Guy was recruited by London’s leading promotion brand ‘SINTILLATE’ and rapidly became a house hold name in London’s West End. Gracing the decks at almost every respectable venue in London, Guy also travelled the UK to play exclusive venues in Brighton, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Derby and Newcastle.
It is Guy’s relentless work rate, energy and ability to mix and transition effortlessly between multiple musical genre’s that gained him the recognition from fellow DJ’s, artists and promoters which resulted in two nominations for the ‘BEST DJ’ Award at the prestigious London Club & Bar Awards.
Guy has also been a regular on the festival circuit in the UK playing alongside headliners DJ EZ, Example, Tom Zanetti, Solardo, Sam Divine, Hannah Wants, DJ S.K.T, Jaguar Skills, Majestic, Nathan Dawe, Foor, Wideboys, Ms Dynamite, Karen Harding and more.
On an International front, Guy currently holds annual residencies in Marbella, Ibiza and Dubai with a huge ambition to reach the US and Asia and is currently working on releasing a debut EP as his journey continues.
